Beautiful... beautiful... such sweet things swam freely- swam prettily in the unmoving water. Kamin watched them sadly, heart aching- to be pretty like them. To love life as they did, swimming amongst one another, scales shimmering pure beauty and joy. Eating at the food which fell from trees or from soft hands, growing fat and no one saying otherwise. Happily..mindlessly loving and living life. 'They're so lucky...' her/his mind cooed.
Eyes focused above the fist...red hair, darn honey eyes... smooth skin. Kamin stared at the image of himself / herself. And Kamin envied the fish, heart stinging with jealously- why couldn't he/she be beautiful too? WHY! His/Her hand pierced the water and slapped his/her image away. It always showed up, his/her reflection- just as he/she found contentment and relief in the day.
Shaking slightly... at the act more than out of anger...Kamin looked over the water, bowing his/her head. Long arms wrapping around the thin frame he/she called a body, "...sorry fish.." and stared into the settling ripples. Glad that water... and the fish wouldn't hit back.

A dull day like every other day in this place. Emro spent most of his time aimlessly wandering, gathering stories on the people who have been trapped here. Every story seemed a little like the other one. Was this place like a sanctuary?
Emro had found himself outside, not many people were outside the mansion, more like inside. Was it to resist the temptation to walk out the front fence? Like the rules said, if you did, you die. Pleseant thought.
He found himself studying a girl by the water with his eyes. Not in a creepy pervert way, more so, people watching. Another prisoner of this place, the second person he had met. What was their story? Was it in his place to ask, possibly. Emro still kept himself distant from anyone else. Even though he opened himself up to a lot of people. Maybe it was the thought of telling other's his tale.
He rubbed the quartz that hung from his neck, a strange habit he had, for the quartz was said to protect him from spirits, or so it said on the internet. It was like wearing a cross for the Christians. Was Emro religious? Not really, but if he believed in the things he believes in, who says there isn't some great celestial being. Not him.
Emro watched the girl slap the water. Was she trying to catch fish with her hand? No, she seemed rather angry...at the..water? Emro shrugged and started to walk towards her casually, as if he too wanted to stare at the pond.
Smiling his warm smile, he looked at the girl. "Something wrong with the pond?" He asked. "Is everything ok?" He asked, very sincere.

Kamin's eyes grew huge at the sound of another person's voice. Their very resonance of sound from the lips of the other, sent chills down the spine of the already terrified essence of man/womanhood. Looking towards the owner of the voice, Kamin's eyes found their feet and stayed- submissive, shaking almost so hard that language would be distorted.
Kamin struggled for words, struggled for a moment for air- panic attacks came easy to her/him. All those years of being sheltered... revealed...sheltered had ruined him/her. All Kamin wanted was to be loved by someone. But.. no one could love what Kamin was. Everyone hated what Kamin was. Even her grandfather had been cruel from time to time. Kamin could never remember even a hug from the man in his/her life.
Taking a long, deep and incredibly shaky breath, Kamin finally answered, "I- I saw something in the water..t-that the f-fish w-w-wouldn't like." Her/His eyes stayed planted on the new persons feet. "I h-had t-t-t-t-to g-g-get it out of the w-w-water."

Emro smiled at the girl warmly. "Oh, well. That is very kind of you to think about a simple creature like a fish." He tapped his chin. "From a simple task like that, I can say you have a big heart."
The girl seemed to be extremely shy, not just the stuttering, but looking at his feet. "Miss, what is your name? My name is Emro Deucalion, Researcher of the Unexplained." He said rather proudly of his self proclaimed title.
He could read this girl easily, Emro could easily have a degree in psychology, because people were rather easy to read. This girl must have had a hard past because she was shy. But what. What would make her shy? Well, what would make him shy? Of what he is? Emro was shy before, because he was different in what he believed in. Maybe he could make an assumption using that. Well, if he was wrong, he'd look like a complete idiot and moreso a jerk for making such an assumption. Well, it was worth a shot.
"Miss, I don't want to seem forward in what I am going to say, but it might make you feel more comfortable around me. So, here I go. I believe you were mistreated in the past, which is why you are stuttering and avoiding eye contact with me. Something in your life has made is hard for you to open up to people. Well, I am the same way, but my reason is different. But, I am a very understanding person. I don't mistreat people, unless they harm those I care about, because of what happened to me. This might not make a lick of difference to you, but I won't harm you in any way."
He took a smile, and revealed his red eye, his sign of heterochromia. "My eyes are different, and my beliefs in the Unexplained were the downfall of me. People thought I was a demonic being. People don't always understand people, but what makes us different, makes us even more special. We are all different, in our own ways. Though, what all I said, was just from you being shy." Emro laughed. "I observe people, if I wasn't trapped in this mansion, I'd be trying to get my degree in psychology."

Kamin looked up, eyes wider and iris tiny- she/he was terrified of this man and yet... he had hit the nail on the head. Watching him closely- honey'd eyes shimmering with suspicion and slight worry. Kamin fidgeted with the hem of his/her skirt, she/he always wore spandex shorts under the skirts... just in case. Shaking slightly. As if expecting him to turn at any moment and hit her/him. Kamin was accustomed to such actions.
Kamin very slowly stood... barely reaching chin of this man. The shaking was even more visible at this point, but Kamin gave a slight bow, "I-I-I'm K-Kamin Insign. It's a n-n-nice t-t-to meet you."
Standing up straight, Kamin took a large step back, putting some extra space between the two of them. Kamin wanted running distance. People had a tendency to grab... to hurt.... Kamin had been brought in here with promises of no more hurting. Kamin was very uncertain of this long winded person.
"No one...is as different as I am," Kamin would mutter... no longer able to make eye contact- he/she only could manage fleeting glances into people's eyes. The eyes were the windows to the soul- Kamin didn't want anyone to see how dirty and unworthy his/her soul was.
"Y-you'd m-make a g-g-good psychologist. T-t-t-there's alot of books in the library h-here. Y-you could finish t-the d-degree."

Emro listented to the constant pausing and studdering throughout Kamin's talkings. He felt so bad for her. Such a girl to be fear stricken and scared of everyone. What happened to her? What caused this. Emro wanted to know, but he was in no place to ask her. Things like -hey, what made you so scared of everyone?- It wasn't his business.
He smiled and slid his hands into his pockets, and stared into the water. Emro looked at their reflections, and focused on his own. His white and red eyes. His downfall. Those eyes caused him as much trouble as his beliefs. Emro moved some of his hair over his red eye and turned to face her.
Emro smiled warmly. "Pleasure to meet you Kamin. Kamin's a nice name. So, you say no one is as different as you? Well, my friend, I've read about people who were magnetic, people who looked like werewolves, and people who had twins inside of them. I'm sure you aren't as different as they are. But they all are still human and deserve the same respect." He looked down at the water at his reflection.
"The human race is a doomed race. We are so quick to judge. A person who dresses like he is going to a funeral, has two different colored eyes, and loves reading about the Unexplained. Isn't a demon or a witch, but merely...interested in strange things. Like ghosts and aliens. But I on the other hand, embrace the differences in the world. We are who we are, things can be changed, and things can't be." Emro smiled still.
"Yeah, I would make a good one, but I haven't entered college since the small town I lived in didn't have one. And well, they probably wouldn't have let me in. People who are supposed demons, witches and things of occultish nature were frowned upon." Emro laughed.
"Sorry if I talk to much, I'm not used to people being nice to me and not trying to set me on fire." Emro again joked.

Kamin looked this male over. Honey'd eyes shimmering as he/she did. Curiosity is something Kamin had always had a problem with. Gripping the edge of his/her skirt, Kamin suddenly bowed her/his head. Shaking so hard that his/ her knees gave out and she/he sat on the ground, "I'm sorry but you seem just as normal as anyone else I know of....you just.. see smarter.. and more vocal."
Kamin very slowly looked up- he/she felt better being this close to the ground when talking to this scholar, "You have pretty eyes- like my mom."

Emro laughed "Normal, my friend, nobody is normal. People spend time wishing they were normal, but there is no such thing. We all have our secrets, we all have our interests, we all have our past.
I have strange interests, interests that are so taboo there is no limits. I love strange things. Which makes me different. Oh and my eyes. Well, there is a gift that I was given by someone which makes me very very...different."
Emro was not yet going to tell her about the Geass, she would have to find out herself. His ability to hear thoughts, read memories, manipulate minds...and things he hasn't yet tinkered with. But that wasn't something he was going to shout out.
"Smarter? I haven't heard that one before, thank you. I spend my time observing and reading. I have a great memory, and I like to sit and think. What do you like to do Kamin?"
Emro blushed a bit, pretty eyes? That was a new one. "Oh, thank you, Kamin. You have beautiful amber eyes." Emro liked eyes. They were probably the most pure part of the human body.
