Jasmine sat in her cage, legs curled up beside her. Her weight rested on the hand she leaned on. She was watching people move past. She looked innocent and... calm. Which was more than she could say for her surrounding captives. There were people banging on cage bars and shouting... She felt very alone in her quiet cell.
She watched the people with wide, naive eyes. She just sat there, motionless in her cage. This earned her a few glances, but nobody approached. She would do anything to get out. She would tell any lie. Anything to save her from wasting away behind her prison bars.
She hadn't spoken in days. She hadn't said a word. Her voice was probably coarse from lack of use. But she didn't care. If she just sat there and waited, the right person would come to free her. The person who would get her and and let her leave. She closed her eyes and prayed for that person.
