Where's the light switch? That's the tenth time asking himself, as he slowly navigates the basement. Usually there's some people down here... I wonder what they do?
Issun should have noted that he didn't keep track who else woke up 5:00 in the morning. However that didn't stop him from exploring. He stops asking his question, once his night vision begins to moderately help him. He loudly questions what he sees, "A pedestal? Sharp tools? What's this room a torture chamber?"

Ran had followed his marble which had rolled down the stairs, having ran down after it a couple of hours ago. In the dark, he'd felt around the ground for more than over an hour in the darkness for it. He'd never thought of turning on the lights, that thought never occurred to him. Plus he knew the room as well as the back of his hand when it had its lights on. He didn't need to turn on the lights. Everything was in his memory.
The pretty marble was something that managed to hold his attention for that long, but well, anything the same colour of turquoise jade like his eyes, hair and string of pearls would have. He loved that colour. When he finally found it, he crawled to a corner in the basement to curl and sleep, for the search had worn him out. And with a sigh, he closed his eyes till...
His eyes flickered open, stark with fear as he huddled into the corner, clutching his marble desperately. But that was only for a few seconds, as his mind had been resting and wasn't ready for the intrusion. Almost immediately he relaxed once his mind had the sense enough to block it off, erasing the memory. Ran was awake now though, well rested from his nap, looking about in the dark.

His body shots with a chill, not just the creepy atmosphere that created it, as there might be someone in here, that he can't see. He moves around, trying to see this person, before they see them. Issun heads to one corner, finding perhaps a teenager, who was looking around himself, "Hello? Who are you?"
I hope he doesn't take something from the walls and attack me...

Slowly, keeping the marble clutched in his hand, Ran got up from his crouch in the corner. Even in the dark, his fairness with those strangely turquoise jade hair and eyes, and those glimmering pearls that reflected what little light there was in the basement, it would have been easy to notice him.
His mind cleverly avoided acknowledging the other person in the basement, making Ran deaf and blind to the world. He yawned. Sleeping in the corner made his body ache, stretching some and making his muscles and bones crack while he did, loosening himself up to relax before o slowly heading for the stairs leading up, ready to leave the basement.

"Hey! Didn't you hear me!", not knowing about the possibility that Ran couldn't hear him. "Hello!
Why is he ignoring me?, noting Ran's retreat. I should get out of here too.
He catches up to the behind of Ran. "Why are you ignoring me? You could say som-," he trips on base of the stairs, as his panicked induced reflexes went to grab Ran's leg.

Ran was just about to step on the next stair, and that was when a vine suddenly ensnared his ankle. Or at least, he believed it to be a vine. His mind wouldn't accept any other answer, for a moment the fear in his state of denial crept into his present consciousness and touched his heart, making it tremor.
Falling along on the stairs and crashing into the edges, Ran blanched at the pain that recked through his arms which had blocked the fall and his hip which had crashed into an edge. Twisting around agilely though, he lashed out, trying to kick off the vine around his ankle at least, before trying to scramble to get up.

The boy was about to apologize for wait he did, but he reacted to the kick. He slaps the incoming kick, which hurts the inside of his hand. Issun was a little angry, as gets up "I'm sorry! It was an accident! You didn't need to kick me!"
He looks at Ran, expecting to finally be acknowledged for being there.
[sorry for the wait]

Ran didn't reply though. Why would he when he did not hear or chose not to hear what the person or rather, vine said? It never crossed his mind how illogical it would be to have vines in the basement, scrambling up and taking off up the stairs quickly, as if trying to get away from some terrifying creature, not even looking back.
Well, he did, actually. Just a swift glance over his shoulder, his jade eyes laced with fear.

[I'm so sorry man... that I've been gone and this post is kinda short]
Issun notices the eyes, "What's the matter? I'm sorry if I scared you"
He's a weird person...
The boy was harsh in judging, as he didn't know anyone else that would ignore him like that. Then tried kicking him, then become afraid. This made Ran more interesting in a way, just making Issun wonder more why Ran does what he does.

Ran just jerked like he'd been hit, being spoken to, though slowing down he continued to climb up like there wasn't anyone down there as his mind gathered itself back to calm him down that there wasn't anything to be scared of.
Absolutely nothing.
