Personality:
Unlike some, the boy does not cast others out. He does take notice that others are there; instead of ignoring them and acting as if they aren't even in the room, he takes any chance he had to talk to someone. Though be that as it may, he will not talk to everyone, he knows when he is not wanted or liked by someone. Thus he leave them be, he doesn't like troubling people, when they don't need it. Nor does he like troubling others at all, his problems are his; not there to bare.

Some may think Riku doesn't have a temper, and for the most part he doesn't. But there's just some things he wont forgive; those things make him mad to a point that he'll seem almost different from how he seems fully. He'll take charge, and seem stubborn for the most part, he doesn't think fully. But only certain things will case him to go out of normal. One thing can't be helped, and it seems to come out more than it should in this household. Riku can't stand others being treated as though there lower, and even if he's a slave his views will not change. He thinks he should be treated just the same as the next guy, that even if he's given a status he's a human and should be treated just the same as you or another man. But as it goes, “All mean are not created equal.”

But this is only part of him, not everyone will see it; not many no of it. But some have been a bit unlucky to see this side of him that's hidden. Over all you mainly see one side of the teen, he's mostly kind to all and will stand for what he thinks is right. He's a man of his word, and wont back down from something, this trait makes him seem stubborn. Though one may think he isn't a type to hold a secrete from someone, but he is, he only keeps one from the world.

History:
Nothing was wrong with his life, nothing at all. He had a perfectly fine father, but no mother. She'd died when he was three, in a car crash, but that wasn't his fault, she had been with a drunk driver. But his father was someone who worked a lot, the mayor of the town, so the two didn't really have a “father and son” relation ship with one another. This couldn't be helped, and Riku seemed to be fine with it. A friend wasn't hard to make, right? After all he was young, he was a kid, so having a friend wouldn't be hard to do, it would make it easier for him when his father wasn't home.

Though most parents didn't like the views of his father; the town was fighting with another, and if something didn't happen then they would all possibly be killed, or something even close to that.. His father was going to fight though, he wouldn't give up the town that easily. Thus it was hard for him to make friends, once your parent talks about something so much the kid starts having those views on it, thus none likes him. And he didn't have a father to turn to, nor one single person that could help him get through life.

Age five he had a friend, someone who trusted him and was perfectly fine with his father. Though even at a young age, and with the possibility that the town may be taken over, his father was on edge, and the two often started fighting. Though one night, something seemed to go wrong, Riku hadn't meant to do it, he really hadn't. But the guilt stuck with him, and everyone covered it up, but he really hadn't meant to. He had been cutting something, an apple, when him and his father started, his arms went flying trying to make his point, and he made one small move before his father was stabbed and dead. The neighbors covered it up after they heard his story, and even then the town didn't go down, it may have been taken over by the other one, but it didn't go down.

The people didn't stop with there lives, and even some started to rebel. Hating the ways the town was ran even more than they had the last mayor's ways. Though most no longer resented the boy, he was still given a hared time by some. Making life even a bit hard. But he still had a friend to turn to, until the age of ten. That friend moved away, leaving him mostly alone.

After a while of taking the town, after a while of dealing with things people said, Riku no longer wanted anything to do with the place, and with his guilt in one hand; the heavy heart in the other, he left the town. He had already been on his own since he was five, so starting a new life some where wouldn't be hard, right? Though even that thought was wrong, and it was tough at first. Mainly since he was so young.

He did not no of the curse when he first saw the mansion, he hadn't heard the rumors simply because he had never talked to many of the people in this town. He knew nothing about the place, but he had figured that no one lived there, and that it would be the perfect place to hide just to get out of the rain. Even if someone did live there, they had a porch and he could at least stand under that until the heavy rain lifted! But either way that went, he took the few steps into the yard, before someone seemed to come out of the house to tell him about his misfortune, and then forcing him to be how he is today. Age fifteen, he had become a slave.
