Emro sat with Elspeth in the parlor right next to the fireplace. The young girl was sitting in Emro's lap. It had only been a few weeks and the young teen had taken a liking to him. She never had left his side. Even when he would be taking a shower she would sit on the toilet patiently, humming softly staring out the window. Or when she was taking a bath, Elspeth would have him wait for her outside the door.
Elspeth had given Emro an ability like C.C did. The control over fears. Time to time she would try and force Emro to use the ability.
She nuzzled her head against his chest and smiled. "That person over there, you should manipulate their fear of snakes."
Emro shook his head "I will not, there is no reason to. They've done nothing to deserve that."
Elspeth sighed " You're no fun Emro " and she sighed.
"Scaring people isn't fun Elspeth"
"You'll see soon enough" She said with a devious grin. She took a lock of her hair and twirled it around one finger.
The rain came down even harder. A loud crash of thunder and a bright flash of lightening broke the silence. Emro and Elspeth turned their heads to the window to watch the storm. If this was a vortex, there wouldn't be storms....or would there. This caused Emro to think even more.
"You're thinking again Emro. You need to stop that." Elspeth looked up at him.
She was right. Emro needed to stop thinking and get out and meet more people. Maybe she would be the Ying to his Yang. A balancer for him. But, Elspeth would soon drag him over to the other side of things, being the dark savior of the human kind.
Emro shifted the weight of the young teen in his lap. He didn't mind her company that much. She was a dark person like him. Though, she wasn't a deep thinker like him Elspeth was prone to act without thinking things through.
He started reading her mind and realized what she was going to do. The young girl was bored and that ment that she would be manipulating fears, and the person afraid of snakes was going to the target.
"Don't do it Elspeth" Emro said looking down at the small girl
"Too bad, I have power, and they don't. You don't even care for the human race. You say it's plagued and diseased. You say it needs to be fixed. If people don't understand the difference in others, they will never understand. Elspeth replied.
Emro was amazed at the wisdom in this young girl. She was like him. In the way he thinks. But this wasn't right. Not this way. Fear was wrong.
Elspeth waved her hand, and caused snakes to fall from the ceiling around the man. He screamed in terror as he was being covered. Emro tried to dispell it, but it wasn't part of the power. It was she who was controlling it. Even though he had half her power, it wasn't in his league.
The young girl began giggling in amusement and watched the man jump around. He ran out of the room. Emro was not amused and meerly disgusted, but he was interested in the reaction. No! He was wrong. This wasn't right. He shouldn't be interested in causing people fear just for scientific reasons. Emro was slowly being drifted into this.
" I know that look Emro, you want to use your powers. You feel it. The hunger." Elspeth giggled cutely and jumped off his lap.
The bolt of lighting flashed as he watched his frilly dress wearing companion walk across the room.

Jasmine walked into the living room, blinking back the memories of what had happened here not long ago. She was tired. She had never felt so tired in her life. Everything was confusing and scary. Why weren't people nice? She had never met so many mean people before. She hated it.
She stopped short when she saw a man run out of the room, shrieking something about snakes. Snakes she could handle. They weren't always mean like the people in this house. They were... predictable. She continued into the room.
She sat down on the closest chair and let her eyes train themselves on the girl who was walking across the room. She was wearing a frilly dress that really seemed to clash with the darkness of the house. Maybe this person was nice. She smiled slightly, resting her head in her hand and sighing.
((sorry it's so short. School. You know how it is.))

Elspeth heard someone walk into the room and Emro took his eyes off of the dancing embers for a brief moment. His mind constantly scanned the room, and he had built himself a mental picture of everyone who was in there. Elspeth was oogling some treats that a butler or maid had left on a table and some new girl had entered the room.
Emro was slowly getting bored and tiresome of the human race...people were so...boring. Being around different people was much more exciting. Like Elspeth. The young girl was probably going to try and provoke the fear in her, and Emro would have to play hero and stop her. It didn't take a mind reader to figure that out.
The long white haired girl turned her head and smiled sweetly at the new girl. Her bright amber eyes stared into her's. Elspeth held a brownie in her pale hand. "Hello, what's your name?" She asked.
Emro sighed listening to Elspeth. This was going to turn out for the worst. He placed his hand on his pale quartz necklace with his eyes closed. Slowly, he opened them and rose from the large arm chair.
He made his way towards Elspeth and the newcomer. One would say they matched; in the way where dressed. Both were kind of gothic. Emro had dyed red and black hair, black sweatshirt, fingerless gloves, jeans with a studded belt and skull shirt. Around his neck hung a pale quartz necklace.
Elspeth had a black and white frilly dress that came down to her legs. It covered most of her chest, stomach and arms. There was no reason to show off her chest since there was hardly anything there to show off. Elspeth wore dainty little dress shoes. She too had a quartz necklace and her's was indigo, a sure sign that she belonged to Emro.
Emro came by and patted her on the head like she was some sort of dog. "Whose your friend?" He smiled.

Jasmine smiled hesitantly at the girl. "Um, Jasmine..." Her voice was soft. She still wanted to believe in the good in everyone. It would be hard if there was nobody good in this house. She thought that this girl and her matching friend would be kinder than the others. They looked kinder at least. Or maybe it was just the stereotype that went along with frilly dresses. She sighed.
She turned her attention for a moment to adjusting the way her skirt fell over her knee. It was a knee length skirt that was made of a purple floaty material. She wore a light green singlet top over it. Her hair spilled over her shoulders. Hope shone brilliantly in her eyes for a moment as the other person showed interest in her to. They weren't wearing masks and they weren't ignoring her. Maybe they were nice. She looked up at them quickly. "Please, can you please help me? I've been here since yesterday and I've only met very mean people..." She trailed off sadly.

Elspeth smiled at Jasmine. She seemed afraid, and that is what always brought a smile to her face. Mean people? How could she warp that around, but..she was sure Emro could hear the thoughts that were spinning around inside of her head. The young girl stared down at the brownie in her hand and nibbled on it cutely.
Emro gave the girl a smile. " Its a pleasure to meet you Jasmine. My name in Emro, and this is Elspeth"
Here since yesterday? A newcomer to this prison/paradise. How did she want them to help here? All Elspeth could and will do around people other than him is warp their fear. The only reason she wouldn't warp his fear, is that he told her what he would do with her mind. More or less lock her in an internal nightmare for all of eturnity.
Emro slid his hand into his pocket. "Help you? How would you like us to help you?"
Elspeth perked up at the word "mean people" she knew how to take care of mean people. Flashbacks came back to her of different ways she delt with people. Setting them ablaze, ceiling them inside makeshift coffins and ripping them apart by manifesting the undead. Is this what Jasmine wanted to happen to someone, and would Emro allow her.
Elspeth stuffed the rest of the brownie into her mouth and stayed close to Emro.

Jasmine looked up at them again. They seemed nice! She was suddenly very excited. Maybe they would help her. Maybe they would explain what the heck was going on in this house? She bit her lip, not getting her hopes up.
"It's nice to meet you." She smiled again, wider, sweeter this time. "And I was just wondering if someone would... I don't know... explain maybe? Yes, explain what is going on? I'm afraid. I just came in to get a rose for my Mummy and now I can't go home..." The last part came out in a whimper. She had to blink back tears. She had done enough crying already...
She dropped her eyes again so they wouldn't see her pain. She absentmindedly stroked the skin that Jester had cut. It had healed already of course, but it was a bad memory. As well as the one that rendered one of her arms impossible to use. The muscles in her wrist were torn badly. She could feel them healing. But it would take a little time though...

Emro studied the girl briefly before speaking. His red eye had a bird like symbol on it. It was hard to see because of the hair covering it. Emro was reading her thoughts briefly, the symbol then faded away. He got what he wanted to continue this coversation.
"Its nice meeting you too. Well, I've developed my own theories about the mansion. This mansion has a curse. Those who live in it cannot leave, why? I have yet to find out. We don't age and we do heal. The extent of healing is unknown, so don't try and lose your limbs, my friend.
We all come from near and far, so this mansion is obviously supernatural. It also contains supernatural beings. Those with powers, and those who aren't human. " Emro smiled at the girl. " I have never heard a testimony of those accidently wandering into the mansion. " Emro turned his head to Elspeth. " Some of us found this place to be a sanctuary. One cast out of a small town for being different. The other feared by all for having powers."
Emro took a step closer to Jasmine. " You don't have to be afraid. Elspeth and I are kind people. I seek out those who need to be protected. I find those who have been hurt for being who they are, horrible past, or just need a friend. Which one are you? "
Elspeth remained silent and let Emro do all the talking. He was good at that. But she wasn't kind, Elspeth liked to see the fear in people, but she saw the fear in the girl without having to manifest it. She felt bad that Jasmine couldn't go home, her mom must be worried sick. It had been a long time since Elspeth thought about her parents, or even wondered what it would be like to have a worrying parent. Then she thought about Emro, he never spoke of his parents, or even had a picture of them. What was that about?
Elspeth reached into the pocket of her dress and pulled out a black hankerchief and handed it to Jasmine. With a soft voice she said. " Here. "

Jasmine nodded slowly as he spoke. Only half of what he said made sense to her. She had never thought about magic or curses as being real, so she decided that it would be better if she didn't think about that.
She didn't shrink back when Emro stepped toward her like she would have if it had been any of the other people she had met so far. She smiled for a tiny second. "I need a friend." Her voice was small, but glad that she had found someone who could fill that quota.
She was rather surprised when Elspeth handed her a hankerchief. She hesitated before she smiled again and took it gently. "Thank you." She replied, before looking to both of them. "Thank you so much."

Emro smiled at Jasmine. " Well, we'll be your friends. Right Elpseth?"
Elspeth gave a nod and cute smile. She wasn't used to having friends, so this might be a new thing for her. So far Emro was her only friend, and jealously might be born.
The girl seemed so shy, shyer than Elspeth was. Was Jasmine afraid by being trapped here. Emro decided that he would try and break her innocence.
" You don't belive in the unexplained. Well, it is real. This mansion stops our aging, traps us and heals us. Let me demonstrate."
" Master don't hurt yourself!! Elspeth shrieked.
Emro turned around and walked towards the fireplace slowly. He glanced around to see what he could do: He could stick his hand into the fire, slash himself with a firepoker. But Emro could not do that, but he could not do that and find something else. Like that water glass sitting on the table.
Emro grasped it and squeezed it very hard in his hand, causing it to shatter loudly. Elspeth jumped and turned her head over to Emro. Who seemed unphased by this. There was bloody glass in his hand. He wiped his hands together to get the glass off. Emro picked up a handful of knapkins and wiped off the blood and tossed them into the fireplace. Smiling, he walked over to Jasmine with his hands stretched out forward. They were like new.
" They healed, thanks to this mansion. If you want more proof about strange things, I am sure I can feed you the information. I've done lost of research on it."

Jasmine looked up in shock as Elspeth tried to stop Emro from hurting himself. She jumped up from her seat and grabbed at his hands as he held them out to her. All rational thought told her to stop the bleeding. Only, there was none. The skin was perfect, fine. She looked down at her wrist. It looked good enough, but it still hurt. Maybe it took a bit longer.
Her panicked eyes flew up to find his. "B-But, that should have... You should be badly bleeding!" She didn't understand. Sure, she was glad he was okay, but how had it happened? Her eyes betrayed her confusion and horror that he would hurt himself to show her something.
She looked at Elspeth. She looked so nice, why had she let Emro hurt himself? She didn't understand. She wanted to run away and never come back, but she was going to have to be braver than that from now on.

" I'm sorry Jasmine. This must be a little too much for a newcomer." Emro said tossing broken pieces of glass into a nearby trashcan. " I know that you have been hurt by someone. Your wrist may take a little longer to heal." Emro stared at a large piece of glass. " Small things like cuts and gashes heal easyly"
Elspeth scurried over to her master. She didn't like his methods of proving his points, but some things had to be done. The young girl held herself close to him. " Don't hurt yourself anymore, Master."
Emro looked down at Elspeth and back at Jasmine. " There is a lot of confusion on your mind. Things are never as they seem in this mansion. Some people have been here for hundreds of years, others a week or two. But do not be afraid, my friend. There are people that will help you and try and keep you safe, because there are dangerous people."

((Sorry it took so long to reply. We've had visitors))
Jasmine didn't understand. Why were people mean? She knew that all people were good, or had good in them, so how could anyone hurt someone else? It was going against everything she had known her whole life. Fifteen years worth of knowledge stepped on by these people with no conscious. She wanted to go back to the world she knew. She wanted to be a child again.
People had always said that Jasmine was like a child. Small and innocent and pretty. She could change anyone into someone good. She had proved that will one of her best friends. They used to be a bully and now they were good people. She looked up at the two in front of her. "Why are people mean?"

(tis ok)
Emro poured himself a glass of juice and stared down at the liquid. He swirled it around in the cup and continued to stare, as if he wanted it to become something else. Blood? Liqour? Soda? Emro placed the glass to his lips and swallowed the fluid. Such a sweet taste, a lot better than the texture of soda. The carbonation bothered him, he didn't like the way it tickled his throat.
Emro licked the droplets from his lips and proceeded to answer Jasmine's question. He stared at the empty glass. "The reason why people are mean, has many opens doors. The person may have been mistreated as a child, they may enjoy being dominate or controlling, they may enjoy seeing the pain in people.
The main problem with the human race is that people are too free. Free to think what they want, and the primal codes built inside of them are horrible combinations.
Jasmine, my friend, you have such innonence on your mind, you love to believe that every person has good, which is true, but you cannont change people easily. Which is why I had Elspeth here give me some of her power. So I can cause fear in people and get them to change. Some people don't want to change, using your voice hardly ever works. That is why I use force. Force of the mind is what I call it." Emro smirked placing down the glass.

Jasmine didn't like the way he smirked. It wasn't nice. It wasn't nice that he liked causing people pain. Even if it was the make them nicer. She didn't like that at all. She shook her head a tiny bit. She stood up, feeling calmer, braver. "That's not very nice. You can change people without making them afraid or hurt. I did it. That's what I do. I make people see that it's better to be nice than naughty"

Emro stood there tapping his finger on the wooden table. "Jasmine, we aren't that different. We want to change people, but you do it out of kindness, while I do it using fear.
People usually don't want to change. They like who they are, because they don't see anything wrong, but there is something wrong. We all see that. If I was back into society. I could do so much. I'd be messing around with prison inmates. Showing them the error of their ways. Bringing their fears to life.
Jasmine, you seem to think there is good in everyone. What do you think about criminals? They are obviously not good. But I want to show them true fear. What fear is. People like them disgust me. I'd go visit them, and start to rewire them. Using my own method. Bringing their fear to life. Making them relive tragic moments.
I make people see its better to be nice than vile.
I'm a new hope, but I am trapped in this mansion. I guess I'll fix the broken within this mansion."
Elspeth listened to them. Jasmine didn't seem like she liked her master. Emro was a great guy. He was her teacher. Jasmine was a strange girl, she was about being nice and kind. Those people were very disgusting. Thinking that everyone was nice. There was no evil, and evil could be changed with words. That wasn't the way Emro could taught her.
