Elspeth laid on the green grass underneath a tall oak tree. The shade kept her cool from the warm yellow sun. Wearing her normal gothic dress attire warmed her up far too easily. For once in her week of living here, she was away from Emro.
The young girl held the quartz that Emro had put around her neck, it was his trademark, unlike the scars, collars, tattoos and other painful marks other masters gave their slaves.
Elspeth rose to her feet and walked over to the gate, and placed her hands on the metal bars. Was this a prison for them? Why were they stuck here? Why couldn't the leave? Not that Elspeth wanted too, she was an outcast. A freak of nature. A young girl who provoked the fear in people. She would never think of leaving without Emro. Elspeth had feelings for him, but kept them hidden from his mind. She was only thirteen, and he was far too old for her.
Elspeth awoke this morning and Emro wasn't in the room, but a note was scribbled down saying he was doing research. So Elspeth wrote one down saying she'd be outside, since it was a wonderful day out.
Her golden eyes stared past the gates to the world infront of her. Just out of her reach. Elspeth wanted to push through those gates and see what was out there. But this supernatural house's road could lead you anywhere. The young girl could've sworn she came here from an urban neighborhood, but Emro came from a small town. There was no small town near her. For all she knew, Elspeth could end up stranded in the desert.
Elspeth brushed some of her snow white hair behind her ear and took a glance around. There was supposed to be a lot of people here, but hardly anyone was outside. A few people were out having conversations with one another, maybe she should spice it up a bit, and bring out some fears. It is almost Halloween, and people should get in the spirit.
